Passing by these spider holes always has me wondering if the natives made use of them in any way and if I could use them too. A couple of times I was pretty near to them before I noticed it. I was surprised that there wasn't slush near them but after reading this article it makes sense that it was probably draining water back into the lake, so thanks for the link.
