Sounds like a great trip with good camping and fishing!  A good getaway, I'm sure.  How far up the GFT did you go?  Post photos if you can!

That is a pretty rough draft alright.

I am clueless what you are offering to do for sports stores.  You are going to increase sales of some stock (what stock?) and use some recycled material (what material and how are you using it?).  And provide comfort for a backpacker eating inside (???).  Are you making a shelter out of cardboard boxes?  Or a stove? Or?

I use graphite from a spray can for my joints ( the pipe, not my elbow). I find it lasts for an entire season when WD40 burns off after 1-2 uses. I have 10 year old elbows that still swivel after 10 or more years.
I also carry a small roll of muffler tape in case of pinholes or joint separation.
I need to rummage around and find that graphite spray.  Thanks for a great idea!

I had an elbow joint separate one evening while I was enjoying a nice fire.  Suddenly I had flames shooting out the elbow inside the tent.  For some reason, I had anticipated a problem so I wasn't totally surprised.  I quickly slipped on my gloves and carried the stove out the door.  No damage to the tent!!  The replacement elbow is much heavier gauge.

Central UP has a good amount on the ground... 14" where I go fishing in the Hiawatha NF.  Drill a hole, enjoy the slush.

I have some pieces of dowel ....
This got me thinking and I came up with a nice dowel (closet rod) hanger for my Expeds.  Thanks for the idea!

Just placed an order the other day for a tank, top bag and stove bag.....
Gearin' up for the New Year's Weekend BWCA trip, I see!

I imagine a lot of board members have insulated down mattresses.  Their R-value is higher than an air mattress (Thermarest Neo Air X-Therm is, at R5.7, the warmest air mattress. )

I often hear of issues with the Exped mats and I keep waiting to have problems with mine.  I have had 3 for four years and no problems at all.

Wonder where you are located... and your winter camping site?  I hope to be at the Winter Camping Symposium that weekend!

What did you use to cover your split wood pile??  Looked like bark?  How well does your wood dry and stay dry for use in the winter?
