I've been surveying this site for awhile. I hope there aren't mistakes. I have been planning to get into this remote lake that is susposed to have Brown Trout by that MNR site. I know there is bass and the MNR don't stock Browns but it was a natural source. Of course the bass are probally eating all the fry. I usually use topos and MNR stocking lists to target lakes. I kind of liked the site.

Brown trout are not a native species in Ontario so someone must have stocked them.

I believe the MNR used to stock them back in the 70's. Most of thier stocking stopped for years and cottage Assoc started picking up the slack. The MNR then took control over again. It states that they don't stock this lake but it holds Brown Trout. Some one must have at one point.
It is a pretty inaccessable lake due to the distance off the beaten path.  Easy to get to on snowmobile but still time consuming.

Yes, when I was a kid fishermen used to do a lot of "bucket" stocking, just walking from lake to lake with a bucket.
