Aaaarrghh!!
« on: December 21, 2011, 04:56:07 pm »
We are a few hours away from the Winter solstice and what little snow we had here in NW Iowa has been completely reduced to nothing but a few piles in the parking lots. C'mon winter we need you. The days start getting longer tomorrow and my toboggan is still hanging in the rafters. >:(

Here the weather's gone nuts, too.
One day it's snowing, the next is rain. Going from -13 in one night to +4 the next.

I concur on the frustration!  My buddy invited me to his cottage near Pearth, Ontario for New Years eve and the webcam out at Sharbot Lake makes it look like a view from the UK (read wet and dreary).

I also have a trip based on booking off time over a month ago on Jan 13-17th and I'm getting worried that it will be backing rather than by sled.  My buddy and I are actually looking at several possible spots, from UP-Mi, Espanola to the Perth Area and hoping for snow.  God bless the webcams the folks stick up all over the place these days.  It gives you a good idea of what might be there.

Lets all hope for the fluffy stuff.

Grizz here from Winnipeg I had more white fluffy stuff in my shop working on my new sled than in the parking lot It only seems to snow enough to tease us all . still hoping for a white Christmas. Cheers Grizz.

Ohhh, you are killing me!! As long as we're sharing office views here is mine. It is depressing for wintertrekkers.

Here too it's white but only 2 inches deep. Not enough for skiing or snowshoeing. At least we'll have a white Christmas! Hopefully it'll change and we'll be buried under a few feet of snow soon!

  :'(

The snow we had has melted away by at least 50% with temps up to +6 yesterday. Today it is freezing again, turning the land into one big iceskatingpark, but tomorrow the temps will rise again, reaching a whopping +10 on the 26th!!!

Is this frikkin' spring or what???
I thought this was Scandinavia, not Australia.... :o
