Winter cycle touring intro

Hi guys,

Naturally my style of travel is a lot different to most forum users here. But for those planning a winter cycling trip, here are some of the lessons I learned last winter  :-[

I noticed your tips on battery life. I take a really small cooler like a lunch bag. At night or even in the day I put anything like batteries, flashlight, electronic inside. I boil water and pour it into a Nalgene bottle and place it in the cooler. Keeps everything nice and warm for many hours.

Thanks a good tip, RavineRat. Many people think coolers are for keeping things cold.  Where in reality they are insulated containers designed to keep hot things hot, or cold thing cold.

Cheers

Nice tip, thanks. Its a good idea for keeping drinking water drinkable at night too :).

I don't like to take water containers into my sleeping system.....
