Personally, I'm more interested in knowing where they'll be shooting...don't want to walk across that field.

For those who have been in that area, how much time will we be spending on the groomed trails? It had sounded to me like we would be primarily doing lake travel.

I'd suggest that after parking at the resort we head straight down their access road to high lake. aprox 3km to Manitoba bay. it is their private road so will be groomed by snowmobile on one side and x country ski track on the other the road provides access to their "eco-cabins" on High Lake. no worries about the bi-athalon range we won't be going anywhere near there. As far as Lake travel is concerned we can go as far as we like until we find a nice spot to stop.
though once we hit the lake it might be tougher going.
I also might have a couple of people interested in joining us though neither has confirmed as of yet.
a meet up @ the "ranger" SHELL  station should be OK though the restaurant at the ESSO across the street has better pie.

Just tell me where to meet up on the 9th and what time some of us will most likely car pool from winnipeg. My navigational skills seem challanged when not in deep woods lol. the shack thing was a pre trip spot to go over logistics and have a fire and brew, without all the hussle and bussle of the city. but may be a problem for everyone to meet up just for a pre trip planning session. As far as I know it will be just Me leaving early If rick and Jon go they will likley stay till the end.cheers Grizz.

So it sounds like we have a plan!

Meet at the Esso for 10 am.

Convoy to Falcon Ridge parking lot.

Head down the access rd for an hour then off along the lake.

Do we need to let them know we are coming and check on using the road?

Should we look at a earlier meet up time as the days are short and we are not sure of a definite camp site yet.

Where are we at with this?

I'm currently hoping to share a ride from the city on Thursday morning so that Selena keep the car and then can join me  Saturday.

Forecast is for milder weather toward the end of the week.

We are still a go. I'm coming down from Ashern that morning, which means I probably need to be on the road between 6-7am to meet everyone around 10am. I see the wisdom in meeting earlier, I just don't think I can make it any earlier. Maybe next year we'll find a spot north of the city, a little less travelling time for me.

Lets keep the plan as 10am at the Esso, and then convoy in from there.

10 Am esso it is then, just sucks I cannot stay the whole weekend lol. If Rick does not come then I will have room for one in the Truck, It will depend on how he is feeling his PTSD has it's ups and downs this time of year and he knows when to be by himself. cheers

OK so finally got round to checking with Falcon Ridge.

They are fine with us parking but as suspected no power. If temperatures reach the predicted high it shouldn't be problem anyway.

Looking forward to the trip. I believe Grizz has had a special hair cut in anticipation of the mild weather!
