Lake conditions
« on: January 12, 2014, 05:42:01 pm »
Anyone have any idea how lake conditions are up the Gunflint trail? What I'm wondering about is how's the slush on Seagull Lake. Any insight is appreciated.

I don't know about Seagull, but today I was out on the Moose Lake chain of lakes off the Fernberg...Ely area, and the ice was great.  However, on Found Lake, a small lake, there was slush close to shore where the snow was the deepest.  The opposite shore was fine.  Brook trout fishing wasn't.

An update on lake conditions of Moose Lake chain, off the Fernberg Trail, Ely area.  I was back out there yesterday and conditions had changed.  More snow through the week and trails had about disappeared and now there were large areas of slush.
