CANCELED Ontario Cold Weather Camp.
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:18:19 pm »
I was thinking about putting together a car camping trip before the snow comes. It would be South West of Algonquin Park. This would be Crown Land so there is no camping fees. The site is quite far back on the logging roads but any vehicle can make it. We do several winter camps in there. It would be early Dec 2014 to let all the Deer Hunters to finish. It will be dependent on no or low snow in the area. Don't want to get stuck back there.

So is anyone interested? I'll pick a date and then we can plan it out.

Sounds like a great idea.  Unfortunately, I can't make that weekend; but if you decide to make it later in December, I could.

I'm not off again on a weekend until around Dec 20. Lots of good spots for hammocks.

Weekend of Nov 29,30 2014

I will make a note of that on my calendar.  Would this just be a 1 night camping adventure?

I am hoping that the weather will be sufficiently cold.  I don't enjoy camping when the temps hover too close to the freezing point.

Cheers

Brian

Too bad RR.
I am not available that weekend nor Dec. I will, however, be heading in to Valens Conservation area near Hamilton on 21-23 Nov.; I have such limited time available at this time of year, so going somewhere 40 minutes from home is the best I can do.
