That was a great trip even if we had to take a second attempt at a location. Sorry the Rabbit never worked out, I can't believe how thin that ice was.

Hearing the weight of that cot makes me feel a little better!

Maybe you could buy a carbon fibre tripod instead of your metal one to compensate for the additional weight!

I'm not sure what time I'll be able to get off in February, but what do people think about trying to organize a trip to Riding Mountain?

I would be in for Riding Mountain depending on dates.
Might try and get there the weekend of 17&18 of this month.

SWMBO has suggested the Louis Riel weekend for Riding Mtn in Feb but another time round then would work, either a established campsite like Whirlpool or Audy or haul into a backcountry site. There should be enough snow by then.
