Winnipeg Area late 2015 RMNP
« on: August 22, 2015, 10:08:06 pm »
Good Morning Wintertrekkers!!  ::)

For those in the Manitoba/Winnipeg region I am heading out to Riding Mountain in November before the Grey Cup!  While I really hope the bombers make the Finals- I doubt its gonna be a home game (no thanks to the Ti-cats!).

Anywhoo... Its the weekend of November 20th.  Whirlpool Campground specifically so if it snows expect a hike in.  Its a Nature Manitoba trip so info is on that website if you are interested if you come you have to sign the waiver.

Good time to test your winter gear!

Three Hot Tents, two cold tents and a great batch of Cinnamon buns!

Was a good weekend till I came home and had to spend an hour clearing the drive of snow before unpacking.  :P

I took just a few pictures

GoLite Shangri-La 5 at night. The first time I had really used this tent and stove combi. Worked fine if a little more cramped than a Snowtrekker due to the sloping sides but mostly because I haven't learned how to arrange things around a center stove yet. This photo was taken on my TG-4 with the Handheld Night Scene mode.

If Italians went winter camping...Shug has coffee from the hammock. I have espresso on the TiGoat!

Sunday morning we woke up to several cm of snow. I was woken to the sound of a the sides of a tent being whacked.

GF's Snowtrekker (aka the Cinnamon Bun Palace) after the snow.

I'm sure GF will post more pics and will compile another awesome video.

I still haven't unpacked the gear let alone tried to get the pic off the Iphone!

but yes a trip report and video should follow - after the Grey Cup!!!
I miss those great Canadian grey cup parties of the eighties & nineties!
