I heard, my friend went up to his property near the Catsklills and using his canvas tent and stove. I'm jealous.  Bagels are on me at the gathering!  Place your orders soon.

Coldfeet -

Have you settled on the first weekend in December?  If so, I'll have to miss out due to work.  We don't move into exams until after the second weekend in December so I've got trips/programs both the first & second weekend of the month.  If you guys can wait until the weekend of Dec. 17/18, I could probably make it.  Just let me know.  Thanks!

That's all for now.  Take care and until next time...be well.

PS - Don't know how long it will last but we got about 10" at my house outside of Cooperstown and a bit to the east is supposed to have seen 22" so there's lots of snow here right now as well.

Think if I want to be married for another 31 GLORIOUS years I will have to miss out that weekend and wait for the next, oh wait, my daughters birthday (30) is Dec 24th!  ahhh!  Oh well, it's early Dec for me, but I have off the week of Dec 26-30.  Talk soon.

Robin, that offer sounds real good.  What do you think of Pachaug State park if it's still open?  I'm good anywhere.

My offer still stands, I have plenty of firewood so no problem there and lots of good areas to camp open field or deep woods 12" snow right now. Lots of non hunting proteted land to hike on.
Ct. state land deer season closes Dec 6th so Pachaug will have lots of hunters.

Seems like this might happen. I live in northwest Connecticut (Norfolk) and if you feel like making the trip I have plenty of room to camp. It seems like this might be a shake down cruise for a couple of folks, so if your in the same boat with new gear it would be a good opportunity to work things out before winter .
If you just want to camp with your hot tent that's good to.

Robin, Thank you for a wonderful time this past weekend. It was great to meet some of the members in person, and it was a good learning experience.
Coldfeet, next time bring more bagels, and no more Grand-Marnier.
Greenfrog, is was interesting watching you with your knife and friction fire skills, and the venison tacos were delish, you can be my chef anytime.
Hopefully we can get together again this winter with snow on the ground.
  Bruce

Trying to post pics but doesn't work.

Great time guys, will keep you updated for ADK trip in February.  Also possibly a mid week trip late December.  Thanks Robin.

It was a good time, sorry I could't find my camera, or the backup camera either.

I enjoyed the hike back in the woods, built up an appetite for that great food in bcelect's tent.

Thanks for coming up guys!
