In the lead-up to winter I'll often cherry-pick any forecast that calls for a cold, snowy winter and disregard the rest. Here's a bit of good news for anyone else clammering for a cold winter around the Great Lakes! Below normal temps and above average precip! Bring it on!

Yes, we are seeing some this now in the Northeast US originating from lake effect snows.

Parts of MN already have around 2 feet of snow. Now we just need the cold to stick around so we can get out on the lakes. It looks like Thanksgiving weekend may be mild but temps look to drop after that and the ice should start forming.
