Riding Mtn National Park, Manitoba- November 9th-12th
« on: October 23, 2018, 02:58:22 pm »
Westman Wilderness Club's annual season opener at RMNP. There's usually at least 3 or 4 hot tents and a few others at this event. Likely camping at Lake Audy though there are rumours that Whirlpool Lake may be open for the winter.

Parking is within 100m of the tent site so you can bring all sorts of gear along to try out.

Very much a social gathering but we do usually manage to find some time exploring the park

Thanks for this notice, BV. I really hope to make it out this year. Depends on work :(   Retirement is not too far off, I hope :)

I'm hoping to make it out for a few nights at least.

Whirlpool is indeed going to be open for the winter. Tests this fall, including with scent dogs, didn't turn up any sign of zebra mussels.

Lucky duck - less than a decade for me!

I am heading away for second week of deer season so have to stay home that weekend.
