Trekking Skis'
« on: August 31, 2017, 08:58:31 pm »
In the works now. 5 pairs of trekking skis' (already sold) 22 cm wide by 145 cm long. These will be lighter, thinner, have a greater tip curl, additional skin notches at the tips, and metal side edges compared to my first pair. Here is the cut out of the 4001 grade sintered P-tex base. Stay tuned for additional photos as construction progresses.

No bindings yet. They still need a finish and base grind.

A total of 4 pairs were built. 145 x 22 cm, P-tex base, metal edges, greater tip curl and camber, skin notches and less weight (5 lb 2 oz. each) compared to my first pair. I fitted the skins and bindings on yesterday and I'm heading out tomorrow am for 3 nights (with 16" of base snow and cold temps foretasted) and will be using the skis to haul my sled, pack my tent area down, and perhaps even do some "glade" skiing. Woo hoo. Happy New Years Everyone!
