That looks really nice. I like the high sides although it does look a tad short to hold the gear I typically bring. Would be very curious to see a pic of it fully loaded.

I'm not sure what the Northstar ptarmigan is. This is my design and contstruction and is 5' long.

  It's designed to train two together. The 6" sides are a blessing in slush.

Yes, the bottom is flat and there are skegs  aft. Tracks like it's on rails.  Thanks all for the kudos. I'm making these as they are ordered, IF I get orders.

Laid up is a lot of work but I know from helping mkae canoes and kayaks that making the mould is one of the hardest parts too.
Fibreglass and polyester or epoxy resin?
I have seen some very interesting cloth here lately in composite fibres for use with epoxy, FG with 10% Carbon fibres and 50/50 Kevlar / CF
And will 2 of them couple together as a raft?

 It's 5' long, 18" wide at the top, 14" at the "Chines", and 6" deep and weigh 12 lbs. without the cover. I install 2 SS eye bolt at the front and 1 centered at the back. The front is bridled for a single rope pull or a X pole system can be attached to the instead. The single eye bolt is for hooking another pulk to or a line for going down steep hills. Two 8" skegs 12" apart are installed aft for tracking. The covers are made by Dan Cooke of Cooke Custom Sewing and feature large pulls so one can leave their mitts on and close to the ends rather than to the center. This allows access to gear stowed at one end or another without opening the entire top as there are three compression straps to compact load. Loops around the perimeter allows a length of line to be threaded and thus facilitate lashing extras like skis or snowshoes/ shovel on the outside. This line is also very handy for loading and unloading from the vehicle. I've tried to make it versatile because of so many different preferences in loading, hauling, and price.

Has the gel coat been tested to see how well it holds up when dragged over sharp, hard ice crystals? What about adding HDPE strips to improve abrasion resistance?
