4 Days of Hammock Hot Tent Life
« on: January 11, 2019, 09:58:59 PM »
Finally the weather and life lined up way to perfectly this week and got out on a extended winter camp.... and as I type this it is pouring rain on this Friday
So a job for a client had me heading 63km into the back country and after finishing that it was back down to the 55km mark to spend the rest of Monday through Thursday alone with a Local Moose beside a lake.

This will be picture heavy as no better way to enjoy the scenery that is.

Loaded up ..2:30pm time to make tracks and find a spot to set up at before darkness settles in

Hello Kkrgi:  Very nice scenery!  It looks like you ate well.  Do you live  in British Columbia?  Thanks for sharing.

Take care,
Cousin Pete

Yah no issues with the eats hahahahaha
Yes I'm in North x Northwest BC and I encourage anyone to tour this whole area as it is just stunning...start in Smithers BC and soak it in as far west and or North as you dare along the Hwy 16 and 37 corridors.

Awesome photos Bkrgi. What type of work puts you that far out for a client?

You gotta love that clear vinyl door... I've said it before: I don't think I' go winter camping as much without having a clear vinyl door view.

Oh wow. Well, that's spectacular.  How was the condensation inside the tent?

Thanks for sharing truly stunning pics of your time in the woods. Haven't made it to BC yet, but hope to some day.

Washing windows in this case at a lodge https://bearclawlodge.ca/  ...for those that like Heli skiing in remote Northern BC this is the place

Vinyl window/door rule in a hot tent by letting the world in while one basks in the warmth within. Your posts made me do it and no turning back when you go window 8)

Hey Marko ...the condensation/frost is always there on the inside ....you just adapt and live with it...is the price of going light weight

Thanks for sharing, beautiful pics of mountains and the steak and the sausage and everything else.

Was the hammock set up and the hot tent set up over it?   Excuse for asking.

Looks great, thanks for posting!
I'd love to see more pictures of your hammock and hot-tent setup. Might you have photos that you could post, or perhaps another post that already has them?
Thanks,
Bryan

Wow, I love my home area but nothing competes for scenery like those mountains.  Magnificent.  And I have had vinyl windows on tents before and loved them.  May have to look into modifying my Snowtrekker.

That's a pretty cool hammock set-up.

How do you like the SO Large stove? I was thinking of getting the SXL stove... And the Redcliffe...

I like it a lot keeping in mind it weighs 3.5lbs (tent weighs same so for 7lbs.......) and so being Ti, heat retention is zero...so either it is cooking along or not at all relative to how the fire in the box is doing. I would not go with a smaller stove unless your only doing -10c temps. I have done -27c temps with the large but you do stay snuggled by the stove and you need dry wood or heat will suffer big time. Ti does warp over time but that just adds character hahaa
Essentially it is about compromises like everything else
I may get your setup out this weekend but temps will be balmy which sucks for good testing....coldest I have been in this yr was on this outing so far and not expecting much to change

Jawax:
How about another view of the area ...this from last yr but from a lake just around the corner
If you scroll through the pics posted to my flickr you get a idea of the beauty that is here...and why I'm here and NOT in Southern Onterrible.  ;D
