Whrilwind Yoop trip this weekend.  Houghton area: i think the tech students are gonna struggle with their winter carnival ice sculptures given the piddly amount of snow.  There was a little more up the Keweenaw.   We "snowshoed" Whitefish Point (The Plover Police go away in the winter) and walked over exposed rock and sand.

We are 10" behind where we were with snow at this time last year. 5" now vs. 15" a year ago.
OTOH, conditions are great for traveling over most of the lakes around here, which have an inch or two of snow at best, and no slush.

Central UP has a good amount on the ground... 14" where I go fishing in the Hiawatha NF.  Drill a hole, enjoy the slush.
