NOW is it cold enough??
« on: January 29, 2019, 09:41:31 pm »
You guys in the northern states are getting some really sub-zero temps this week. Time to test your winter clothing and take a short vacation to get out and camp.

I envy you those frigid temperatures. here i am in southern Nevada and even at 9,000 ft. in our nearby Spring Mountains it has only been done to -5 F. so far.

Finally, some real Winter! Currently -30f here in MN, and us Winter Trekkers are loving it! Headed into the BWCAW next week, forecast looks good, with sub z temps at night and single digits during the day. Perfect.

Simplicity in all things is the secret of the wilderness and one of its most valuable lessons. It is what we leave behind that is important. I think the matter of simplicity goes further than just food, equipment, and unnecessary gadgets; it goes into the matter of thoughts and objectives as well. When in the wilds, we must not carry our problems with us or the joy is lost.
