Hey BV,

We are hoping to meet you at RM. at least for Nov 9,10,11.
Let me know if I can help find out about Whirlpool being open.
How was the quality and quantity of already cut wood last year?
Might hear a wolf or two howling :)

That’s good news. Brought our own wood last year the park stuff was so poor. Hoping that the so nearly retired Mr Wilkie will take the lead with the park. I suspect they had a lot of wet snow last weekend, should melt but maybe they have trees down as well.

There was a wolf kill on the lake ice a couple of years ago. Had to retrieve Holly a couple of times as she was keen to get a share of deer meat.

The road crew tells me that Hwy 19 is closed for repairs to soft spots near Whirlpool but they hope to have it open well before the 8th. Snow accumulation and temperatures will determine when the road into Whirlpool will be closed for tracking.

I'm off on a two week prospecting trip but maybe I'll be back in time to join you if that's OK. I'll get my wife to pass on updates on access.

Thanks

I suspect we may be going to Audy again.

Is the Audy site sheltered, or exposed to wind?
Thanks BV.

Can be drafty along the shoreline but usually possible to tuck behind some trees. At least it was last time I was there. They have been updating the site so may have opened out the best spots.

Apparently Whirlpool may be open, and Moon Lake will be open. They are a little less open to the wind, perhaps.

I'll phone again on Wed, Nov 6, and post their response.

Moon Lake is noisy though so would be my least favourite option. Plus when I have been there I saw quite a few cars drive around the campsite just sightseeing, always makes me nervous for any gear left unattended.

But whatever works. Hoping we don't have the wet blowing snow like we had today.
