Posted a new picture here on an old post, then realized nobody would know it, because it entered as an edit, so...see the post before this one. Drummond, WI, 1/4/10

I am lucky when it comes to skis; one can get old Swedish military wooden skis (usually about 195-200 cm long, fairly wide) for not much, and for much more moneyone can buy Tegsnäs ([link][/link]) skis in the reral traditional lengths (mine are a classic 240 cm long by 75 mm wide).

Their binding, btw, is nice as such, but I've had one rivet tear out, and the plactic heal cup split (non-catastrophically, but still) at -50 C. In a few weeks I'll report on how they work with ECWs True North boots. They work well with anything I've tried that has some "structure"; my "connover mukluks" are too floppy for them; the ski and binding will rotate around my foot, taking the (perhaps slightly floppy) mukluk with it.
